Renown

Renown is your personal rank — earned by playing, independent of your alliance. Every player has one, it carries its own perks, and Rankings can be sorted by it. Introduced in v4.5.

Ranks

Rank Renown needed
Wanderer 0
Captain 150
Commodore 500
Admiral 1 200
Warlord 2 500

Renown starts at zero every season.

Perks

Rank Research time Build time Ship & PDS cost Free scans
Wanderer — — — —
Captain −5% −5% — —
Commodore −10% −10% −5% —
Admiral −15% −15% −10% 1 per 24 ticks
Warlord −20% −20% −15% 2 per 24 ticks

Build time and cost apply to both ships and planetary defences (PDS). Free scans are orbital scans that cost no Silicon; the allowance resets every 24 ticks.

Renown never stacks with your alliance tier

For each perk separately you get the better of your alliance tier and your Renown — never the sum. If your alliance is Gold (−15% research) and you are Commodore (−10%), you research at −15%; if your alliance's tier fades, your Renown keeps your perks up. The Renown screen tells you when your alliance tier currently gives more. See Alliances — Tier or Renown.

How to earn Renown

Source Renown Cap per day (48 ticks)
Daily mission claimed +10 each none
PvP battle won +5 each 50
Void attack repelled +5 each none
Expedition returned +5 each none
New orbital +1 each 30
  • PvP win — any battle you win against another player outside your alliance, attacking or defending (including as an ally helping in someone's defence).
  • Void attack repelled — a Void attack on a planet you defend that fails.
  • Expedition returned — every R&D expedition that comes home.
  • New orbital — each successful orbital scan, and each orbital you steal in an attack. Orbitals from the reward menu don't count.

The daily caps are rolling windows of the last 48 ticks (24 hours in a normal season). The Renown screen shows today's Renown per source against each cap.

Inactivity

Renown fades if you stop earning it. After 2 days (96 ticks) without earning any Renown, you lose 5% per day until you earn again — but never below the threshold of your current rank. You keep your rank and its perks.

Where Renown shows

  • Your profile — current rank and Renown, your perks, what the next rank gives, and today's Renown per source.
  • Renown statistics — all ranks and when you reached each one, this round by source, the last 14 days (earned and lost to inactivity), your peak, and your career across rounds.
  • Player profiles, the alliance roster and battle reports show each player's rank.
  • Rankings can be sorted by Renown.
  • Rank-up — reaching a new rank sends you a notification (available to every player, not just Premium), and your alliance sees it in the intel feed.

Tips

  • Claim a daily mission every day — +10 with no cap is the steadiest source, and it keeps the inactivity clock from starting.
  • Orbital scans during protection earn Renown long before you fight anyone.
  • Renown matters most in a small or new alliance: Captain and Commodore perks match Bronze and Silver tier without holding any territory.
